On the banks of the river (finally)

First, welcome CP Belt! It's been a while since I added something here, but now I do! :-D Some of you have been waiting a long time for this. It's not finished (I hope), but I've added the water!

Something went wrong with the water so I got a couple of small ridges in the river.

Probably poured too much of the water at the same time. I haven't given up on this yet. Here we have the participants in the dio (very much tongue-in-cheek!):

Spring-Bjorn. His father was a Norwegian trapper and his mother was a squaw.

His girlfriend, Little White Dove.

And Little White Dove's father, Brave Belt. And he is NOT happy with his daughter's boyfriend and jealously guarding her!

  2. Wherever the river narrows the current speeds up and these ridges look fairly natural, in a real river with a canoe or raft you'd be careful to avoid rocks or fallen tree branches if you saw waves that look like ridges like that.

I have some water mix too so it is interesting what happens when you try it whether it is perfectly successful or not, it shows what can happen.

    1. Thanks. I haven't thought of that. You probably saved the whole thing! I'm going to play more with water in the future.

    1. Thanks. The figures, canoe and bush is just put there temporarily. I want a better bush or a good tree, but haven't found any in the hobbyroom (just very bad trees).

  4. Pouring water is tricky. Gotta go slowly. If you add more water, the ridges might go away. Bue Mekelnborg is right about how water churns. Maybe dry brushing some white caps here and there might help? Check some river photos. Still, it's looking good to me!

    1. Thanks. I will try to drybrush some of it and I will try to add more water (slowly). And look at a lot of river photos. And our local little creek too. If this succeed you and Mekelnborg probably saved the whole thing. This is a big help.

  8. I've missed this one: sorry Gunnar!
    very good work!
    It reminds me "Pocahontas" !

  9. Thanks! :-D Yes, a little bit Pocahontas, but very very much the old song Running Bear. :-D Spring Bjorn is Run Bear in Swedish, Little White Dove is in the song, and now we get nerdy! Canadian rockband Guess Who made a coverversion of Running Bear in the 70s, one early member was Randy Bachman (later BTO) who left some time in the 60s and started his own band, Brave Belt (who evolved into BTO around 1972-73). So some connection with all of it is Randy Bachman for some reason that I haven't come up with yet. Working on the water.
