Still in Texas

Right now the barbecue-smoke is heavy over Sweden. Everyone is at the barbecue (yup, me too) so if you can smell some barbecue when you read this you know why. What I have at the barbecue? Pork, chicken, beef, mushrooms, onions, vegetables, etc, etc. But I still managed to get some painting done. Almost finished my Texans! Why I didn't paint the shoes/boots on the casualties is anyone's guess, I have no idea except that I didn't think of it. The rest still got their bases because I want to see how it all looks with the cavalry (and maybe some Mexican infantry). I know Davy shouldn't be there, but I couldn't resist.

Got some more paint on the Mexicans and their horses and found a Texas casualty I had forgotten.

The local toystore have closed and I bought two houses that I don't know what to do with right now. I don't like that they are ruined, but that's how it is. Airfix so they are a bit on the small side. First their café with some figures for scale, one Airfix Prussian, one IMEX Texan and one Strelets Boer (+ two Airfix WWI casualties).

And then their country-house (I think it was called). With same figures (almost).

Stop the cavalry

Back to the minis! Working on a little Texas-something. Almost finished my Texans, but you will have to wait until they are finished. I have started on the Mexican cavalry using Hat's Napoleonic French Dragoons and French Lancers. I think they look much better than IMEX' cavalry. And I already have them! :-D

Already finished one of them. He lost a duel at Benno's some time ago.

A long time ago I made a dio called "Party in the woods" and I've finally started with the bases for the prequel and the sequel. The prequel is almost finished, I have the figures, I have a good title, all I need is a base. The sequel is bit more to do. Only one figure and horse finished (three more horses and one more figure to finish), but a good idea about how the base will look when finished. No title though.

Deep in the heart of Texas

First, welcome Francis!

This blog has been very very quiet lately. It will probably happen again. I've started to paint some Texans for a little scene from 1835-36 sometime. Don't know if I will put them near the Alamo or somewhere else. I have some cavalry to paint to. These fellows are from Imex Alamo Defenders, Strelets Boers, Airfix Waterloo Prussians and various Airfix WWI-sets. The cavalry will be Hat's Napoleonic French Lancers and Hat's Napoleonic French Dragoons. Maybe some Mexican infantry too (probably made from ESCI and Italeri French Napoleonic Infantry), haven't decided on that yet. There is a lot more to do on these figures!

People for a royal court

I am painting some noble people to have at different scenes at a royal court. There will be a lot of people, these are the first batch (almost). And the names are sillier than I would like to think. Sorry! Here they are together. I won't remove the bases as I'm going to have them in different scenes.
