Adalbert von Strunten den Sammen with friends

There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear. I am making a little series of scenes concerning the totally fictional German Medieval family von Strunten den Sammen. One late scene is already finsihed and shown here: ( http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16305&p=181227&hilit=stresojekt#p181227 ). But there is a lot more to tell about this family. I have started on the first scene, it is set sometime 1363 or early 1364. Here I show the main characters:

The father, Adalbert von Strunten den Sammen. Have been visited by two Swedish knights and they along with youngest son have persuaded him to go to war in Sweden.

The older son, Guthmund. Is against joining the war, but follow to keep an eye on his elderly father and that hotblooded younger brother.

The younger son, Siegmund. Is looking forward to the adventure and believe that the Swedish nobles will make them rich and famous.

Adalbert have also gotten word to his two brother-in-laws (they married three sisters). Lakritz von Vieluhr is an old friend to Adalbert and they have done a lot together.

Roun de Peliphant is the other brother-in-law. A couple of years younger than Adalbert and Lakritz, and living in France he haven't had the same contact with the older knights and he is a bit reluctant.

He brings his old friend Tortue de Écureuil.

Adalbert's daughter's fiance Kolmbach von Rollingen also joins the war-party.

As does the neighbour Johannes von Lillemo.

And Siegmund's friends Nickolaus von der Rücken

and Gregorius von Blake.

The two Swedish knights are:

Johan Gustafsson Ving

and Erik Birgersson Tre Rosor.

Probably more to tell next time.

Gataskog - Defenders and Attackers

Hi again!

I've been working on this project for some years now and now I'm getting close to something. And since the original battle was in March 1365 I realise that I'm getting very close to some kind of anniversary. But I think I settle on finishing the dio for the real anniversary in 2365. I mean, that should give me enough time. I hope. Some pictures on the figures. The base is just painted yet and I realise I need more bases. And pics with the cellphone so not very good.

First the defenders, Swedes and Norwegians.

Last pic? Yes, I added bowstring on some of the archers. Have four left.

And the attackers, Swedes and Germans. And some casualties that I'm going to put arrows in.

That was all this time. See ya!

The expedition

Hi again. New month, new year and new post! Happy new year! I start the new year with a little something I call The Expedition. It is not finished yet since I haven't made all the bases I need yet. But I'll show some of the photos here (the colour ones) and some (sepia-like) at Benno's. I play a little with the names on the explorers. First we have Sir Alfred Toby (Sir Toby is one of the absent friends in the old TV-sketch Dinner For One, which is aired in Sweden every New Years Eve), then Mr Benjamin Butterbur (Mr Butterbur is usually called Barliman and lives in Bree in Tolkien's Lord of the Ring), Mr James Winterbottom and Mr William Pommeroy (both from Dinner For One), Dr Napoleon B. Brown (there is an old bluessong called Dr Brown and one blues singer called Nappie Brown, but it was Buster Brown that sang the song with saxophone player J.T. Brown), Admiral Adalbert von Schneider (a little mix. Adalbert is a ghost in one of Johan's and Peewit's adventures and Admiral von Schneider is (again) from Dinner For One). The admiral have two dogs, Nuff and Spud (Nuff is also called Alan Lancaster, bassplayer with Status Quo and Spud is the drummer John Coghlan). Very nerdy, yes I know, but I like it. :-D Some of those pics have been shown here already.

Valdemar Stable with Wall Section

Here it is. I had some ideas that I should write a little review and compare it with one of Italeri's houses, but it didn't happen. This is a nice model with very few parts. They don't make a single wall section (without the stable) anymore, so this is the wall you'll get from Valdemar. :-(  I've gotten the advice that I could add another wash and I will probably do that and also take photos from the other side of the wall. The indians? I'm working on them. Pics probably next time. :-D

Ah, yes, it is not finished yet. The doors are not glued. Haven't decided if they are going to be closed or opened.

Walking in the winter wonderland

Huge thanks for the nice comments. I'm not always a man of words, but I do appriciate your nice comments. Here is a new little scene. Wonderland? The only wonder is that it is the same base as in the previous post, but the pics are taken before I added the US soldiers. Here is a lonesome Valdemar pilgrim.

In the woods I was a-wandering one sunny afternoon. A true story

This little scene is actually based on a true story! A long time ago I went to a seance out of curiosity. I was quite sceptical while I sat there and listening to the people getting messages from the other side. Then the medium came to me and said she had a message for me. It was from a man. She could sense a dog with him and she associated him with trees, like a forest. The message was quite simple, I should get my life in order. I didn't get my life in order, but I asked around a little and nobody had heard of such a man. Now, many years later, I am a man with a dog in forest and I think I should have gotten my life in order. Then, not when I did it. And since Alex has made such nice figures I could resist putting them in forest. Just temporary, this forest is for other figures.

And here is a little WIP-pic

Some more people, but not for court

At least not the royal one! Needed a little tiny break from all the nobles so I painted these:

And these :-D

And her :-D :

And rear view:

More people for a royal court

No silly names yet though.

All the new ones together:

The king (no name yet, but I have a few I can chose among). Got the inspiration to his clothes from an Osprey-book about King Arthur.:

A grumpy knight in blue. Maybe the king's uncle or something:

A couple. As usual with this sculptor (Alex Gussev) great faces!

Two guards and an empty throne.

Some kind of nobleman.

A woman in blue.

Some kind of official at the court:

A nobleman. The hawk is not something I am proud of, but it will have to do.

A bookreader (some kind of scribe):

And another nobleman.

And all the courtpeople I've painted so far all together:

People for a royal court

I am painting some noble people to have at different scenes at a royal court. There will be a lot of people, these are the first batch (almost). And the names are sillier than I would like to think. Sorry! Here they are together. I won't remove the bases as I'm going to have them in different scenes.

Here is the old knight, Sir Farbrorbla.

His oldest daughter, Lady Tantgron

His second daughter, Lady Brunhild

And his youngest daughter, Lady Gredeline

Two younger knights. Great friends with each other. First Sir Sotlugg

And then his friend, Sir Linlough

And then we have another lady, the lady in red. Who I for some strange reason call Christine de Burgh

That was the court people. Now to something completely out of court! I've finished them at last and I am quite happy with the result!

That's it for now.
